Microwave data operations

This client specializes in the storage and coordination of microwave transmission data for the US and Canada. Our work covered standard DBA tasks for SQL Server, server administration, and process optimization—keeping a nationally important data flow reliable day after day.

The primary application is incredibly old, with a lot of moving data: interfaces to C code, OS batch files, flat files, and Access databases. Keeping that chain intact meant treating every hop as part of one system, not as orphaned scripts someone might “clean up” later.

We managed a team of consultants to keep everything running smoothly, presented to the board, and made proposals for how the company should look toward the future—what to stabilize now, what to retire carefully, and where investment would actually reduce risk.

We also integrated AI to develop processes that automated a great deal of the company’s work and improved the existing code base—cutting repetitive manual effort without pretending the legacy stack could be replaced overnight.
